High absences in first quarter, decline in March
24 April 2025
In the first quarter of 2025, absences (5.2%) were higher than a year earlier: 5.0%. Flu-like symptoms caused high absences in the first quarter of 2025.

This is based on figures from ArboNed and HumanCapitalCare, both part of HumanTotalCare and jointly serving around one million employees.
On a positive note, after the remarkably high absence levels in February (5.4%), absences fell to 4.9% in March. The number of notifications per 1,000 employees fell from 90 to 61. Absences in March were therefore similar to last year.
And with that, the flu season has come to a close, leaving behind the high levels of absence notifications caused by flu-like symptoms.
